TITLE TYPES

The car's title is determined by the legal status of the title, obtained by either the seller's statement or the actual title report. NOTE: There could be car history records in 3rd party databases (CarFax, etc.) or other secondary sources that have NOT altered the legal status of the title of the vehicle! 

Clean Title


A clear title or A clean title is given to a vehicle with no previous Salvage notations. Please notice that there could be a salvage history for some clean or clear titles too. so, to check your vehicle's history, please visit carfax.com




Theft or Bank Repossession


It is a variation of a clean title for a car that was stolen but recovered or repossessed by the bank or finance company. This type of title will have a brand "theft" on the title.




Rebuildable Salvage


A repairable or rebuildable salvage title meaning is that however has been salvaged but can be rebuilt or repaired. The car may be retitled and resold but will carry this notation. Many states have sub-classes of salvage, such as Theft, Collision, Fire, Flood, or Vandalism.




Rebuilt Title


Rebuilt Title is A general term for a rebuildable car which has been salvaged.




Salvage Title


A salvage title is a form of car title branding that notes that the vehicle has been deemed or damaged a total loss by an insurance company that paid a claim. When a salvage title is issued, the criteria for determining to differ considerably by each state, province, or territory.
